Good news from the Guochuang! Lawyer Min Chen Won the Title of Excellent Female Lawyer in Putuo District

On January 21, 2021, the Fourth Excellent Law Firms and Excellent Lawyers Recognition Conference of Putuo District (2018-2019), jointly organized by the Lawyers Committee of Putuo District and the Putuo Lawyers Committee, was solemnly held. The conference reviewed the work of district lawyers over the past year and the deployment of key tasks for the period ahead. The purpose of this appraisal is to thoroughly implement the guidelines of the 19th National Congress of the CPC, focus on publicizing excellent law firms and excellent lawyers that have made outstanding contributions to serving economic and social development, maintaining social stability and building a harmonious socialist society, set industry models, lead the industry development direction, form a good atmosphere of striving for excellence, learning from and advocating advancement, and actively promote the sound and rapid development of the legal industry. 

The meeting circulated the commendation decision of the excellent law firms and lawyers, and awarded awards to the representatives. Currently, there are 131 law firms and 1,852 practicing lawyers in Putuo District. After a long selection process in April, the Committee selected 13 excellent law firms and 35 excellent lawyers. Among them, 2 law firms generated revenue of CNY100 million, and 13 law firms generated a total of CNY1.1 billion, contributing a total of CNY120 million in taxes. A total of 10 excellent female lawyers were selected. Among them, Lawyer Min Chen of Shanghai Guochuang Law Firm was selected as the 4th Excellent Female Lawyers in Putuo District (2018- 2019). 

Lawyer Min Chen has dreamed of being a lawyer since junior high school, because being a lawyer can help more people in need. This is her original intention. She has always believed that lawyers use their own expertise to help their clients. While more and more people equate the practice of law with making money, Lawyer Min Chen has always practiced it, doing every case well. In the past ten years, regardless of the fees, lawyer Chen Min personally appeared in court. Whether she helps poor clients defend their rights for free, or goes to remote areas to defend the vulnerable, regardless of altitude sickness, as long as she thinks it is worth doing, she takes over, and goes all the way. As a result, she has repeatedly been subjected to unfair treatment and even physical threats. 

 But Min Chen's eyes never fade, the enthusiasm never dissipates, will still be excited because of the new type of case, will still fight for the rights and interests of the clients. She often said that to be a lawyer, the fire in her heart can not be extinguished, the pursuit of social fairness and justice is extinguished, and there is no point in being a lawyer simply for making money. The construction of rule by law is a process, which needs the efforts of many legal persons. 

Be enthusiastic for public good, Transmit Warm Energy

Lawyer Min Chen has been an enthusiastic public interest for a long time. Lawyer Min Chen has been taking part in various public interest activities since she was in college. 

Min Chen went to Yingshang County, Province to participate in teaching activities, won the Advanced Student Social Practice Project Award. 

During her internship as a lawyer, she participated in the 2010 World Expo volunteers won the Shanghai Outstanding Volunteer Team Award, Putuo District World Expo Outstanding Volunteer. 

During her practice, she provides free counseling services for the community, and provides free case agents to help poor clients, donate money to their families, organize charity sales, and work as a legal volunteer to issue legal advice on legalizing the status of children left behind in hospitals and follow them until they enter the social welfare system. 

After the outbreak, lawyer Min Chen first time on behalf of GUOCHUANG LAW FIRM contacted the District Justice Bureau of Putuo to make donations. During the outbreak, lawyer Min Chen actively through the global network, with the help of local lawyers in Uzbekistan and the United Arab Emirates, purchased 4,600 masks of various types, 20 barrels of disinfectant, a total of 800kg of disinfectant, and 5 cartons of alcohol, a total of 50000 ml of alcohol. Among them, 700 kilograms of disinfectant were donated to Wuhan Red Cross, other materials were donated to Wuhan Baijia International Group Maternal and Child Health Care Hospital and some of the law firms of the same trade, while some reserved for Putuo District Youth Lawyers Highway Volunteers emergency disinfection materials. 

In 2021, under the planning of lawyer Min Chen, Shanghai Guochuang Law Firm and the community will jointly set up the Wish Fund to focus on children's philanthropy.
